“They’ve run out of money and no amount of accounting gimmicks or happy talk will change this reality. Those of us who live in the real world could see this day coming.” Governor Palin
Thousands of American families have experienced many struggles regarding finances in the past few years. These economic concerns have overwhelmed everyone’s minds and homes. This money crisis has forced so many families to revamp their spending and make hard and uncomfortable adjustments. But why are Americans forced to make these painful changes, yet the Government is not?
It is obvious today that our country is in a major economic crisis. All it takes is pure, common sense to recognize that something must be done, and fast! It would be easy to make the assumption that our Government officials are working hard to fix this issue, but instead, they are all running around with their heads chopped off accomplishing little, to nothing. These are the times I wonder if a group of toddlers could run our country more efficiently.
When it comes to the current situation the answer is pretty obvious. The Government must make adjustments, and they must get their priorities in order. I believe everyone can agree that we need to do something, but that is where we get stuck. What do we need to do?
After looking at the tireless debates and hearing about the crazy meetings, it seems as though this decision is extremely complicated. But I am not fooled; it is not that this issue is complicated. The real problem is the big egos and the pride of our Government officials.
The Government needs to make some major adjustments. They need to cut spending, and stop making excuses. The left exclaim that spending cuts alone will not fix it, but I say, “We have to start somewhere!” The Government must stop this uncontrollable spending and fix this catastrophe, before it is too late.
It is time for the Government to understand that they work for “We the People”, and not the other way around. They are the ones who need to be making the painful decisions. They need to put their egos aside, roll up their sleeves, and get the job done.
